Be Brave

I have always been attracted to opalescent and metallic qualities.  My discovery of dichroic glass caused me to change my primary artistic medium from printmaking to fused glass. I love the combination of the dichroic next to opaque or transparent colors of glass. The results are magical!  Some of the pieces are reminiscent of nature, while others are more mystical. I use a double-layered mosaic technique to cut and arrange the glass. For more whimsical pieces, I acid-etch words and designs into the dichroic glass then fire it in a kiln.  once the elements are fused I then grind for shape and fire again to melt out the scratches.

For the larger reverse painted pieces, I paint on the reverse side of the glass with various media, including nail polish and car paint.
